Suite Del Mar Opening Party Puente Romano

We don´t do just weddings! We also decorate many of the events in the Marbella calendar and today was no exception as we decorated the staging for the opening party of the Suite del Mar at the beautiful Puente Romano hotel.

It is not often I show work in action as it always looks a bit boring, but I have decided recently to show you more of the behind the scenes and when we get the wow photos of this event I will post these as well, the before, setting up and after!

Here we are decorating all the staging for the opening party tonight with orange fabrics and I got let loose with gold spray paints, you can see my backside in one of these photos fussing over a cocktail table! Tonight though as I type this, this party will be well underway with acrobats dressed in gold lame performing off that very high triangle (rather them than me!), orange lighting, fab music from the DJ and I can imagine a great night! I of course am tucked up here at home with my sunburn and chocolate!

Another great event on Saturday to look forward to with the Butterfly Ball and the Rhys Daniel Trust, again at the Puente Romano Hotel, we are providing the decorations and goody bags for the 4th year running, a fabulous charity and very worth while, so a personal thing for me to do.

Currently the charity golfing challenge for this event is underway hosted by Max Clifford and many other celebrities and culminating in this gala on Saturday night.

More photos to come as all our weddings and events take place :)

Reviva are having an Interview on TRE Radio

Last week, I have to confess, I dipped my toe in the water of talking live on the Radio!

I had absolutely no idea what I was in for but was volunteered by Charlotte to appear on the women's talk hour, a bit like loose women I suppose. So having received a phone call from the wonderful presenter Hannah Murray, off I drove, on a very wet afternoon, to the studios in San Pedro really not knowing what I was in for!

I had been told I was to be part of a chat show for an hour with two other women talking about general subjects that were in the news that week.
What fun I had, once I had worked out how to eat carrot cake, adjust the microphone and speak at all the same time :) I suppose us women call this multi tasking but it was not hard work at all.
Having completed my first round I was thrilled and have since been told I was a natural, all lies of course, I have been invited back to TRE next week to talk about a subject close to my heart and I can imagine you are all guessing what this is!
Wedding world of course, I will be chatting to the lovely Hannah about how I started up Reviva, our journey, wedding world in general and I also hope to start to promote the Butterfly Ball that we are sponsoring here on the 11th June at the Puente Romano hotel for the Rhys Daniels Trust.
We have decorated this event for the past 3 years and this is now a charity very close to my heart that I will continue to support.
It is of course born out of a tragedy suffered by parents, that I cannot even begin to comprehend, that has resulted in doing good as they raise money to provide people, with very ill children, accommodation in rent free homes near the hospitals so that they can move in and lead as normal as lives as possible whilst their children are being treated, quite often far away from home, in London or one of the major cities.
The Daniel Rhys Trust buy properties and adapt them into comfortable rent free homes to support and house families going through traumatic times and take away that stress allowing them to concentrate on their terribly sick children.
There are so many heart stopping stories that I could not even begin to describe them, they, to be honest, reduce me to tears, and I am very adamant that this is such a worthwhile charity that I will continue to support them and do the best I can to make the Butterfly Ball a success here in Marbella.
The Butterfly Ball is now in it's 11th year and is supported by many celebrities such as Max Clifford and the event consists of a golfing tournament and the Ball.
I have some very spooky stories that surround this charity, last year I had Patti, the organiser, in our shop discussing the details of the event and a butterfly flew into the shop, fluttered around us and we were left silent, Patti then told me many other stories about this happening when she was organising the Butterfly events, it made me shiver actually.
We have never had a butterfly in our shop before or since!?
We have the unenviable task of creating 400 goody bags for this event, but having started early we are actually doing very well:)
If anyone would like to sponsor us with a charity prize or something for our goody bags then please do get in touch, the sooner the better as you will be featured in the publicity and the literature for this event which attracts many hi profile clients from Marbella, London and beyond.
I will be on the radio next week on TRE at 2pm on the 23rd March so please do tune in to hear me talk about wedding world and our latest campaign for the Butterfly Ball.

If you would like to sponsor us with a charity prize or fill our goody bags then please do email me at laura@reviva-weddings.com

Almond Blossoms in Andalucia

After a dismal winter last year with months of rain, the Costa del Sol is living up to its name this spring with fabulously sunny days and we are being truly spoilt at the moment.

I am in love with Andalucia, I decided I was going to live here as a small child when my parents first bought me here, I have been in love with Spain from year dot and moved here permanently 10 years ago and my parents live next door.

Spring here is beautiful and I wanted to share these gorgeous photos with you from Anna Gazda of the almond blossoms that are springing up all over the countryside in this sunny weather, they are beautiful and everytime I see them my heart leaps with joy as it signifies the summer is coming!

Last year we were involved in the decoration of the Haiti Fundraiser night and used the almond blossoms to decorate this event, it was a fabulous evening that raised a huge amount of money for this disaster and we were thrilled to be involved.

Haiti Fundraising Gala Dinner

What a fabulous evening, I was not there as always love to get home to my babies!
I have heard it was a huge success and raised over 14,000 euros, fantastic news.
We were thrilled to be involved after watching all the news from this terrible disaster, it is lovely to think we did something to help out and to be given the opportunity to do so.

Let's hope all these small efforts do make a difference and albeit just our time and effort is worthwhile, a huge thank you to Maurice Boland from TRE and Nick Holland for inviting me to participate and of course my friend Patti who I have to say is probably the best event organiser here on the Costa Del Sol! She is formidable when she gets her teeth into an event!!!

Marbella's Haiti Fundraising Events

Not wedding related at all, but everyone around the world wants to do their bit to help Haiti and Marbella is no exception.
As Marbella quickly gathers it's finest event suppliers to organise a Haiti fundraising event, every effort is being made by Maurice Boland and Talk Radio Europe to pull together a golf day at Estepona Golf and a fabulous Gala dinner at the elegant La Quinta Golf and Country Club to raise much needed funds for Haiti.
Both events are only 50 euros a ticket each and some wonderful entertainment is currently being organised, so expect an evening to remember.

Maurice Boland will host the gala evening with many interesting artists to entertain you in aid of charity. Every supplier is offering their services for free and all proceeds will be given to the Ark Christian Fellowship based in Fuengirola who already have a long standing relationship with helping Haiti.
Please find more details by clicking here. We hope you can be there, if you can't please contact us if you wish to donate xx

Cudeca Charity Evening Tamisa Golf

Everytime I visit Tamisa Golf I am always taken back by the fabulous setting this hotel has with it's view over the golf course and the mountains behind it, such a popular setting for weddings and a lovely, friendly relaxed venue. I was approached my Maureen of Butterfly Events who asked if I would donate my time and some decorations for a very worthwhile charity evening raising money for Cudeca and Motor Neurone Disease.
