Trunk Show Extravaganza

Our good friends at Amsale have done it again. This weekend and week we've got three new colors of their best-seller chiffon styles: vanilla, blush and charcoal. We'll also be the first store to show four new promotional chiffon styles and four promotional colors which will retail for a new lower price point of $280. Chanteuse of the Lettered Word

Jane Labanz of the Delicate Pen brings lettering to an art form. Her work is instantly recognizable for its delicate lines and signature floral embellishments. Often emulated, Jane has made her mark with her distinctive style. She'll be at the Wedding Library this Sunday, March 1, from 12-3pm. She'll be available for consultations and will discuss invitation etiquette from 2-2:30pm. Answers to pressing etiquette questions and advice on topics such as how to submit a proper address list to your calligrapher, how to choose a calligrapher and why use hand lettering will be "addressed".

Oheka Castle and WellWed

More to follow on the WellWed event, but I wanted to say that other than our Wedding Library vendors on hand, some of our favorite activities and ideas at the bridal event on Saturday were generated by WellWed! A henna tattoo station, a cute candy bar back drop, the overall Indian theme and a lovely potpourri bar were spot on. Kudos to the ladies at WellWed for an event well produced!

Candy will always help to keep you going at a bridal event! There was a cocoa bar too for that added sugar buzz -- marshmallows on the side.

Project Bridesmaids

Recycle, re-use. Clean out your closets and do a good thing. Created by actress Sharon Stone and her sister, Kelly, Planet Hope will distribute donated dresses for prom 2009 to students at several schools across the country, including New York City’s Frederick Douglass Academy and A. Philip Randolph Campus High School.

Gifts for the Good Life

Susan and Heather from Gifts for the Good Life sent me this beautiful collage of products that I omitted from our e-mail newsletter yesterday. So here's my opportunity to share with you a sampling of what they can produce. GFTGL will be at the Wedding Library on Sunday from 12-3. Destination Wedding Library

This Sunday we are delighted to host Heather and Susan, sisters and partners in Gifts for the Good Life. Wedding Party Developments

We're getting really excited about the Wedding Party, our bridal showcase in January. We've been meeting with the editors at Elegant Bride to discuss how we can bring the pages of their new issue to life. We've got Colin Cowie on board and Jenna Bush bridal designer Lela Rose. Our fashion show is shaping up too -- we've got some amazing dresses, salons and designers to share with you. We've even got top vendors offering floral and cake design demonstrations, even specialty cocktail how-to's. Elegant Bride Editor-in-Chief Antonia van der Meer will be on hand to answer questions and share her wedding know-how. Oh, and it's at the amazing New York Palace hotel. We'll share more as our plans finalize -- suffice it to say you'll be incredibly inspired by the spread.

Vivienne Westwood Gown and Sex & the City

Hot off the press! A couple of months ago we told you about a new bridal salon that we discovered and love. Gabriella New York has been chosen as the exclusive bridal salon in Manhattan to have the Vivienne Westwood "Carrie" dress worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the Sex in the City movie.

When we were asked to assist with this Modern Bride event, we couldn't say no. What fun, an evening of wedding planning with hors d'oeuvres, wine tasting, makeovers and cake sampling.
