Trunk Show Extravaganza

Our good friends at Amsale have done it again. This weekend and week we've got three new colors of their best-seller chiffon styles: vanilla, blush and charcoal. We'll also be the first store to show four new promotional chiffon styles and four promotional colors which will retail for a new lower price point of $280. So rush to the Wedding Library to check it out -- order placed before October 17 will receive our 15% trunk show discount.
This weekend, the amazing Lily of BridalGal will be offering mini-makeovers, gratis!
For those of you planning a wedding elopement or Italian honeymoon, our friends at Bric's Luggage are offering Wedding Library friends a 20% discount on purchases over $250 until November 30. Love it!
One of my favorite things about Bric's is their fabulous colors -- come by this weekend to see for yourself.
No, she's not smoking a cigar. This is magical makeup airbrushing -- flawless. See for yourself at the Wedding Library this weekend. Don't forget to call for an appointment 212.327.0100. (Buzz bonus: Just checked the calendar and it looks like we are all sold out for the weekend -- call to coming in weekday evenings or to get on the wait list. Don't want you to miss out!)

Brides Cocktails at the Metropolitan Club Images

Here are some final, lovely images of our cocktail event courtesy of photographer Allan Zepeda. Thank you for posting and recording the event! Martha Stewart Weddings represented the media, Kostas of Floralies created this ethereal huppah and Ron Ben-Israel said let them eat cake (and served it to all).

Flowers everywhere!
The effervescent Darcy Miller and her amazing wedding scrapbook.
The Club looked stunning (as always) and sounded great too, thanks to Total Entertainment.
Here are some of the happy guests, brides and friend, enjoying a cocktail.

Chanteuse of the Lettered Word

Jane Labanz of the Delicate Pen brings lettering to an art form. Her work is instantly recognizable for its delicate lines and signature floral embellishments. Often emulated, Jane has made her mark with her distinctive style. She'll be at the Wedding Library this Sunday, March 1, from 12-3pm. She'll be available for consultations and will discuss invitation etiquette from 2-2:30pm. Answers to pressing etiquette questions and advice on topics such as how to submit a proper address list to your calligrapher, how to choose a calligrapher and why use hand lettering will be "addressed".
Please RSVP to Linda@theweddinglibrary.com or call us for a personal appointment with Jane. 212.327.0100

Oheka Castle and WellWed

More to follow on the WellWed event, but I wanted to say that other than our Wedding Library vendors on hand, some of our favorite activities and ideas at the bridal event on Saturday were generated by WellWed! A henna tattoo station, a cute candy bar back drop, the overall Indian theme and a lovely potpourri bar were spot on. Kudos to the ladies at WellWed for an event well produced!
Henna tattoos on site. Very haute boho.
Candy will always help to keep you going at a bridal event! There was a cocoa bar too for that added sugar buzz -- marshmallows on the side.
This looked beautiful; little cloth sacks were provided as well as essential oil drops for a DIY favor. All photos courtesy of Stacey Ilyse Photography (a wonderful photographer exhibiting at the event and a new Wedding Library member).

Wedding Party Developments

We're getting really excited about the Wedding Party, our bridal showcase in January. We've been meeting with the editors at Elegant Bride to discuss how we can bring the pages of their new issue to life. We've got Colin Cowie on board and Jenna Bush bridal designer Lela Rose. Our fashion show is shaping up too -- we've got some amazing dresses, salons and designers to share with you. We've even got top vendors offering floral and cake design demonstrations, even specialty cocktail how-to's. Elegant Bride Editor-in-Chief Antonia van der Meer will be on hand to answer questions and share her wedding know-how. Oh, and it's at the amazing New York Palace hotel. We'll share more as our plans finalize -- suffice it to say you'll be incredibly inspired by the spread.

Vivienne Westwood Gown and Sex & the City

Hot off the press! A couple of months ago we told you about a new bridal salon that we discovered and love. Gabriella New York has been chosen as the exclusive bridal salon in Manhattan to have the Vivienne Westwood "Carrie" dress worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the Sex in the City movie.

The dress will be at the salon on two days only -- Thursday the 4th of December and Friday, December 5, 10am-6pm. You can try it on, and if you are feeling particularly sexy in the city, you can purchase it. Call the salon for an appointment at 212.206.1915 or email at info@gabriellanewyork.com.

Christos at Amsale

For our romantic brides. Christos is designed by Amsale for the quintessential bride. Each dress is softly romantic yet refined enough for the most formal setting. From indulgent laces to the tiniest covered buttons, the traditional details are all in place. Yet every element, large or small, has been interpreted for today. I have a little personal bias on behalf of Christos as he designed my wedding dress!
The preview of the Fall 2009 Collection from Christos will be at an exclusive trunk show a the designer's flagship salon from November 28-30. Call 212.583.1700 for a reservation. As Amsale is quoted as saying "The Fall 2009 Collection for CHRISTOS is the embodiment of romance and soft femininity. Exquisite floral details and delicate laces create the feeling of a cherished heirloom while remaining unmistakably modern."

Tejani at the Wedding Library

It's great to have a lot of choices when selecting the perfect jewelry for your wedding gown. And up until now, we've found that brides don't have many choices from their bridal salons or department stores. Our friends at Tejani have solved this problem with their genius jewelry fitting service. Choose the costume jewelry that you would like to try on from their website, and a Tejani stylist will come to your dress fitting with an array of jewels to choose from. The application for the service is on-line, and the service is complimentary. To see the whole collection of bridal and bridesmaid jewelry in person, join us at our Jim Hjelm trunk show on Thursday from 5-8pm. The designers will be there, new styles will be on view, and cocktails will be served! RSVPs are necessary to lindsay@theweddinglibrary.com or by calling us at 212.327.0100. Buzz Bonus: Enjoy discounts on bridesmaid dresses, purses, shoes and jewelry during the show.
