No peace for the wicked!

Ok so finally after all the clearing down, signing off and far too much work for a Sunday, I head to the pool only to be confronted by this little twinkle toes, my youngest, who decided it would be a great game to chuck water all over us for the afternoon! No peace for the wicked!

Wedding at Puente Romano

We love this venue, it is such a fabulous Spanish setting, so Andalucian.
Here we have yet again my snapshots from the day, and am promised more wonderful photos to come from the photographer :)
A beautiful vintage style bouquet, the wonderful scene for the ceremony and of course the fabulous Patio at Puente Romano set out for this wedding, with our table centrepieces and crystals supplied by the bride, simple & elegant within such beautiful surroundings.

More weddings to come from this weekend as our birdcages went up to Granada and we created two more weddings, one was a lovely soft pink wedding we sent up to the hills behind Malaga and the other to Nerja! We have been promised the photos :)

After a very hectic few weeks with none less than 4 weddings this weekend, we are delighted to show our fabulous wedding at Los Monteros with a black and white theme. There will be more photos to come of this wedding, these are our snapshots!

Our creative bride had thought out many details which we designed with her and created the theme of black and white with pearls.

There will be photos of the church in Marbella to come with all the bridal flowers, we created the fans decorated with black and white ribbons and pearls, the confetti cones again to match plus the mass booklets for the church, I took some snapshots before they left here!

For the reception we decorated miniature cava bottles for the girls with name tags tied on with white ribbons, decorated with pearls and a black straw and for the men we did cigars, again with name tags but decorated with black ribbons plus we had a fun time doing a lovely Disney Clubhouse kids table for her little girl who was also celebrating her second birthday, complete with Disney Clubhouse party bags, balloons and of course a birthday cake :)
Our lovely martini's adorned the tables, although they were on and off for a while due to the wind, that eventually as always here in Spain, died down as the evening progressed along with white lanterns hung on the gazebos and over the bar.
We loved the table names, all named after bands with the Commitments as the top table! My favourite table name was the grown up girls table, The New York Dolls!
More fabulous photos to come of this wedding, including the church, when I have nagged the photographer to boredom and beyond :) x

gown friday: summer kick-off edition!

{priscilla of boston}
happy friday, ladies! i hope you enjoyed our summer kick-off week with arin of zinke design--i can't get enough of her high fashion blended with summer wedding tradition--a fabulous combination for sure! thank you, thank you, arin!!
for gown friday i thought i would feature some summer chic gowns. when i think of summer weddings i envision the likes of melissa sweet, monique lhuillier, and claire pettibone--breezy fabrics, flower applique, delicate lace details, and more along the lines of sheath, a-line, and modified trumpet skirt, rather than a large, princess ballgown (though i had to indulge in the pnina tornai below just because it's HOT for summer!). so i leave you with just a little sample of just that--of course the are so many to choose from, and these gowns aren't necessarily the most current collections from each designer, but nonetheless, gorgeous and a perfect fit for a summer soiree!

I love summer traditions: Friday mornings spent packing the car for theweekend trip to the lake. 4th of July floating under the fireworks, peachpies and summer BBQs in the backyard....

For those of you planning a summer wedding, why not revisit the forgotten tradition of the departure dress? Surprise your guests and wave farewell in one of these numbers:

summer kick-off week: summer blossoms with zinke design!

In my midwest backyard, my peonies are blooming, my hydrangeas are blooming early and my garden has been keeping me busy every evening. I also love the floral inspired fashions that have blossomed this summer. Here are a few of my favorites:

If I could have a wedding re-do, I know I would design a completely opposite event from the formal ballroom shindig that we had over 5 years ago. The first thing I would change would be my wedding gown....and this floral inspired beaded lace Jenny Packham dress would be divine for my 5’2” frame.

summer kick-off week with Zinke Design!

When Dani generously asked me to guest blog this week on Weddings Fresh to kick off the summer season, I didn’t have to think twice before compiling this Gucci board as the first summer post. The elements: moody jewel tones paired with crisp white and funky florals; jewel toned eyes, fedoras and a beach worthy tote.

Gucci’s hot. They nailed their sexy summer inspired Spring 2009 ad campaign.
Cheers to everything summer: vitamin D, laid back looks, road trips, summer soirees, and tinny tiny bikinis. Ahhh, living the dream.

Yia and Saul: Entwined

Amorology had the opportunity to work with Yia and Sal  and we loved her soft palette of colors and all of the twine and textural elements.  We just had to share.  It was organic and rustic but soft and pretty all at the same time.
The ruffly rununculus are one of my all time favorite flowers.   There is something so sweet about them.

all of the beautiful flowers were done by Paula of Rae Florae who is just as sweet as she is talented.  I especially adored  Yia's bouquet and Sal's boutonierre with it's hint to the SEA (also the groom's initials).

I Love Love Loved Sal's suit.  Seriously, it's amazing the difference a good suit can make.  The two of them were fashion at its finest and beautiful together in every way.

The cake was simply stunning and delectable by Elaine from Sweet Cheeks Baking.  It was the perfect complement to the tasty food by Barry from Coast Catering .  Delicious evening all around! ... and the roses at The Darlington were in full blo0m and breathtaking!

The table was set with kraft paper numbers, rustic frames that held the menu, mason jars filled with flowers and tied with twine.  Candlelit mercury glass added to ambiance.

Kraft paper boxes tied with twine doubled as favors and escort cards,  holding mexican wedding cookies and fortune cookies to represent the blending of their two cultures.

Yia and Sal, you are darling and sweet and have been such a Joy to work with! It was so much fun to share in your day.  We wish you all the best in your life to come.

All of the STUNNING photography was done by Paloma Images.  Be sure to take a look at their collection of work.  They have quite a portfolio.
