Lucky Luxe Pretty Paper

i adore these wedding invitation suites from Lucky Luxe. this Great Gatsby inspired design is probably my favorite design right now--love it!

Designer Preston Bailey

I saw our friend Preston Bailey at a party the other night and he reminded me of a wedding we worked on together which is one of my favorites. It got a lot of press (including in his own book) but here's an eye-popping image that captures the look.
It's at the now-no-more Peter White Studio in the Starret Lehigh Building but the look would work in any clean, white space.

Aquamare: A Wedding Library Caribbean Destination

We were recently invited to partner with Aquamare, an amazing property for weddings in Virgin Gorda owned by our friend Guillermo Paz and his partners. I spent a week on property interviewing floral designers, photographers, local coordinators, hair stylists, massage therapists, bakers and coordinators. I was impressed by what a small island of only 3,500 inhabitants can offer. But I was most impressed by this incredibly luxurious and personal trio of villas and their amenities.

We left the trip with a plan to offer turnkey wedding planning coordination for the property, with all the leg-work complete. Stay tuned for our recommended local vendor information, special excursions, customized services and products designed especially for Aquamare.
Aquamare is nestled on the beach, secluded, and private. Each of the 3 villas is 8,000 square-feet, with 5 bedrooms each. 36 guests can be accommodated on property, with up to 50 more in nearby walking distance in adjacent villas.
Each villa has breathtaking views, and large open living room plans, great for group cocktails or dinners.
From this bedroom terrace you can see the totally private and groomed Beach Park. Ceremonies, dinners, cocktails, barbecues and after-parties for up to 100+ fit perfectly. Aquamare has thought of everything -- the beach is equipped with electricity, water, easy service access and is ready for a tent if the weather requires one. Here's a long shot of the beach park.
A view to Villa I from Villa III.
Here's an overview of the villas' layout.
Town & Country got a sneak peek at the property -- you can read about their thoughts on Aquamare as a destination venue in the current Town & Country Weddings: Fall/Winter 2009.

Black And White and Yellow All Over!

Hi Everyone! We're returning from a busy weekend but wanted to get a few things up for you this week. Here are more pictures from Megan and Brendan's bold, black and white damask wedding, taken by yours truly at Amorology. We by NO means claim to be photographers but every once in a while get a chance to capture some of the details of our weddings and it of course always reminds us just how much we love our real photographers!

With a palette of black, white and yellow, the pops of yellow were so much fun to play with. Here are some of our favorite shots and details of the day.

I loved the black and white furniture and the tents we brought in to give dimension to the space.

The flowers were done by Twigg Botanicals and offered another beautiful pop of yellow.

On the bride's list of priorities was chandeliers. While it was a little bit of a challenge on the wide open grass lawn..these black chandeliers added just the right touch to the tents to really dress them up while adding the extra light we needed....and we found a way to incorporate chandeliers!!

I love this shot from the day. It really shows how beautiful the setting was!

Megan was now officially a Tobler, so their guests were treated to sweet boxes of mini Toblerone candy bars!

The reception was full of amazing desserts like this lemon tart as well as the candy station we custom created for the couple in their corresponding colors!

One of our favorite candy items from the day: candy mustaches...so much fun!

David, the DJ from Hit It Music, was such a good sport about being our model :)

Always a sign of a good party when the shoes come off!

A very special thank you to Stephina Photography for editing our amateur photography shots for us. We had so much fun snapping these photos, and even more fun putting together this special day for Megan and Brendan!!!

A fabulous spanish orange wedding at Villa Padierna

We loved creating this wedding, the colour scheme presented to us by the bride's hugely creative mother, Cheryl, was a fabulously dramatic spanish orange combined with black and white. We had a few deliberations changing the chair bows from orange to white about two weeks before the wedding as the bride did not do Easyjet!
The breathtaking venue, Villa Padierna, is always a dramatic setting to decorate (and also very hot!)
This was really the last day of the extremely high temperatures here in Spain this summer, we all got burnt yet again! I spend my life trying to undo strap and flip flop marks created whilst I am out working!
We provided a full length aisle runner running from the top of the steps, down the aisle, under the gazebo and up to the chapel, dressed the aisles with white swags topped off with bowls of water filled with white petals on the end of each pew.
Our gazebo and the bridge were decorated with floating white fabrics, elegant asparagus ferns, white flowers and a touch of orange.
The bridal bouquet was a fabulous vintage style spray and the bridesmaids orange bouquets looked stunning against their black dresses.
Fans were created to match the theme with orange ribbons and a black diamante detail, with personalised name tags, orders of services bought by Cheryl, were also finished off with orange ribbons completing the orange theme.
The reception was adorned with our wonderfully tall vases filled with spanish oranges and topped with white and orange floral arrangements, surrounded with jasmine, stephanotis and floating white tealights with orange petals in.
A truly spectacular wedding day, our thanks to Cheryl and her family for involving us.
I am looking forward to my pre booked coffee with Cheryl at the beginning of November to have a photo viewing of the professional shots and to remind ourselves of how hot it was!
